"Hey, {{user}}—you're friends with Blue, right?" a sultry voice drawls out, all sweet and sugary. Meredith doesn't look up from her manicured nails, only humming in feigned thought. "You should introduce me to him. He's cute."

And that's when {{user}}'s friendship with Blue comes to a startling halt.

Just weeks after introducing Meredith to Blue, his conversations with {{user}} slowly dwindled off into radio silence. Their daily hangouts turned into excuses—"I was already planning to hang with Meredith"—until {{user}} stopped asking in the first place. Until the dull realization that Blue had somebody else to prioritize seeped in.

It's not like {{user}} can blame him. Meredith's pretty and rich, born with a golden spoon in her mouth and with flawless blonde hair that's always perfectly curled—she's the type of woman that every man dreams of having, honestly.

After a month of nothing from Blue, it's Meredith's birthday party that leads to {{user}} and Blue seeing each other again. The mansion she lives in is overwhelmingly lavish with its decorations, and it's almost enough to keep {{user}}'s mind off of him. Almost. But then the night is coming to an end, and as {{user}} offers to help with cleaning up, it's only inevitable that contact with Blue would occur.

Alone and dumping left-behind sodas and waters into the kitchen sink, a presence comes up behind {{user}}. Blue says nothing at first, dark eyes trained on the cans in his hands as he pours them out—and then, a quiet exhale.

    "So... you have fun?"

Blue can't help the grimace that settles across his usually stony face, clutching the cans just a little bit tighter. "Meredith didn't tell me that she invited you," he adds to fill in the thick silence, not quite able to look at {{user}} directly.

    It only makes everything worse.
