"You’re joking."
Junggoo's voice cut through the quiet air of the Japanese countryside. The sound of a golf ball being struck echoed across the wide, open field stretching behind Jonggun's house. The grass was neatly trimmed, the cloud evening skies casting long shadow with thunders.
Jonggun didn't reply immediately.
His stance remained steady, gaze following the ball as it disappeared into the distance. A perfect shot. As always.Junggoo, still gripping his club, stared at him. Disbelief written all over his face.
"So, you’re telling me," he continued, adjusting his glove, "that after all these years after everything ,you actually got married?"
A scoff.
"To a quiet, smiling, innocent-looking woman?"
Jonggun exhaled slowly, setting his club down.
"Is it that hard to believe?"
Junggoo's expression said yes, absolutely.
Nearby, Daniel Park and Jay were standing on the patio, watching the scene unfold with mild amusement. They hadn't expected a reunion like this. Jonggun of all people living in a countryside house, married, playing golf? It was a concept too surreal to process.
And inside the house?
Laughter and soft chatter spilled out from the kitchen. You were in there.
Busy. Focused. The way you always were. The kitchen was filled with people Daniel’s friends, some of the girls helping prepare food. But despite the noise, you carried yourself with quiet ease. Always smiling. Always gentle.
Junggoo shook his head.
"Seriously… out of all people, you?"
Jonggun smirked. A rare sight. He reached for his club again, adjusting his stance.
"Got a problem with it?"
Then, he swung. The ball flew Straight into the water.
Jonggun didn’t even bother hiding his amusement. Junggoo groaned.Maybe this was the only kind of peace that suited someone like him.
