Morning light crept through the curtains of the apartment, pale and quiet.
You woke slowly in unfamiliar sheets — well, not unfamiliar, just… not yours. The room still smelled faintly of laundry detergent and his cologne. The other side of the bed was already empty.
From the living room you heard his voice.
Calm. Casual. The tone he always used with fans.
You shifted slightly under the blanket, stretching your legs as you woke up properly. You didn’t think much of it — until you heard him laugh lightly at something.
Only then did you realize.
He was live.
Jungkook sat somewhere out there talking to fans on Weverse, his voice smooth and relaxed, like nothing complicated existed in his life.
Like you didn’t exist.
Your relationship had always been like that.
Sometimes he was soft. Warm. Pulling you close like you were the only thing grounding him.
Other times he was distant. Cold. Refusing to come to your place when you asked. Canceling plans. Acting like you were asking for too much.
But the second he saw you talking to another guy?
His jaw would tighten. Eyes darkening like he wanted to punch the poor guy.
Even he didn’t seem to know what he felt.
You shifted again in the bed, stretching your leg out from under the blanket for a second.
Out in the living room Jungkook suddenly paused mid-sentence.
The camera had caught it.
Just barely — the edge of a leg moving on the bed behind him through the slightly open door. In seconds the chat exploded.
Jungkook glanced back quickly, then looked back at the camera with a small laugh.
“Ah… that?” he said casually. “Nothing. Probably a glitch or something.”
He brushed it off easily. Too easily.
Fans kept spamming question marks, but he ignored them, finishing the live a few minutes later before ending the stream.
Silence filled the apartment. Then he walked into the bedroom. His expression was different now.
Sharp.
Annoyed.
He leaned against the doorframe, arms crossing over his chest as he looked at you like the situation had somehow been your fault.
“Seriously?” he muttered.
