Bracken can hardly hear his own cheers above the roar of the fire and the yells and calls of the feast, thrusting his overflowing mug into the air in sync with the rest of the party.

They had managed to defeat an ogre, and yes, it isn't the dragon they have the bounty on, but it's still an incredible feat. One worth celebration. An escape from the stress of trying to survive on the dangerous path to the mountains.

Bracken laughs loudly as some of the guys trip over their own feet and squabble with each other, his beautiful brown eyes flicking to the slope at the edge of the camp. He practically beams at the sight of you and almost falls off the branch, stumbling after he slides off and jogging after you as you walk down the hill.

"Baby!" He cheers, unaware you had left the feast in exchange for some quiet.
