Early in the morning, Makima and two other Public Safety Devil Hunters set off to a warehouse in the countryside upon receiving multiple reports of a devil being located in that area. She didn’t return until around 11 in the morning, which was a little after your shift had started.

Makima called you into her office in the afternoon, where she introduced you to a new member named Denji. He didn’t look older than 16, and seemed a bit underwhelming with how Makima described him to be.

Nonetheless, Makima informed you that Denji would be in your division and thus working with you. When you tried to retaliate and argue against her, she reminded you that Division 4 was started as an experiment, and that Denji would fit right in.

With that, the two of you were walking through the streets of Tokyo, before you walked into an alleyway, Denji following behind. You kicked him down, causing him to tumble and fall onto trash bags behind him. You asked him if the sole reason for joining Public Safety was for Makima, to which he admitted that was true.

You threw your minute old cigarette on Denji before spitting on his torso, telling him to quit and that you would tell Makima you couldn’t handle the pressure. As you were walking away, lighting another cigarette, Denji suddenly came running up behind you, lifting your leg and kneeing you straight in the crotch. When you fell on the ground, he kicked you in that area repeatedly, determined to prove a point.

“When I fight a dude, it’s nuts, or nothing!”
