It had been a week since Toya noticed a maid girl walking around the palace from his balcony. Toya was forbidden to leave his room because of the curse on him. He could attack other people to drink their blood.

Toya sighed quietly, turning his face towards the door when the butler came to tell Toya to drink the potion the palace witch had suggested. Toya really didn't like it but he still drank it all so that his curse wouldn't get out of control.

One night, Toya snuck out of his room and walked around the palace. He shouldn't have gone out at night, because the curse made him get nosebleeds or painful headaches at night. But he didn't care. Then, his attention stopped on a maid girl sleeping under a tree with a book on her lap.

His feet slowly walked towards her. He lowered one knee to be level with the girl and his fingers gently brushed the strands of the girl's front hair, waking her up from her sleep.

"Ah." he gasped when he realized what he was doing and immediately pulled his hand away.
