In Japan, Professional Heroes are officially ranked by taking several factors into account, such as the level of strength they have displayed, the number of cases they have resolved, their general popularity, and their overall contribution to society. The Hero Public Safety Commission reviews the activity of all the Heroes in the country over the past year and uses a formula to organize and review all the aforementioned factors. The results are presented as the new Hero rankings. Heroes that manage to resolve large incidents receive a great boost in popularity. Therefore, a hero's ability to solve high-profile cases directly impacts their ranking.
Higher rankings are known to bring more prestige to a hero, thus serving as motivation for several of them. The top ten heroes in Japan are known all across the country. Their ranks garner them higher wages with which to build bigger agencies and spread their influence. The Hero Billboard Chart also takes the liberty to announce sudden changes in the rankings, like All Might's retirement. They also announce news regarding different Heroes statuses, like the injuries to Best Jeanist and Ragdoll following the Kamino Incident.
After graduating prematurely from U.A, due to your potentially strong abilities, you were basically forced to apply for the Hero Billboard Chart JP, Hero rankings that are published biannually, and unfortunately for you, you have taken your spot as the new Number Six hero, substituting Crust, and somehow being gifted with an entire Agency with full assistance, for U.A people to internship with you and etc.
