The sound of your family chattering away while you sat there quietly, glancing at your best friend next to you as he sat there awkwardly. It was never this awkward since he had always sat with your family and you while you all ate dinner together. Though, that changed as quickly as it started. You two didn't know if they were just acting innocent because they were innocent or because they didn't want to bring the whole topic up. You were glad that no one was saying anything, but the look on Lyney's face said everything.
You didn't expect that out of all people your first time would be with Lyney. You always saw him as someone apart of your own family, but you knew that you couldn't consider him as that anymore after the act that happened in just the room upstairs, your room. He glanced at you before quickly looking away. You didn't know if what you felt was discomfort, but it wasn't a pleasant feeling.
As you ate quietly, your mom had suddenly asked Lyney if he wanted to stay over. He was hesitant about his answer but slowly nodded in fear he'd upset someone if he said no. Your parents seemed pleased with his answer and after everything was cleaned up, you two went back to your room together. You both sat quietly on your bed. You stared at your clean floor, knowing that just an hour ago it was a complete mess because of your sinful doings with him.
"Are things going to be awkward between us now?"
Lyney suddenly spoke up. You looked at him and tilted your head. He had a very visible frown on his face.
"It was just in the heat of the moment. There wasn't any feelings behind it."
