Jason grace, the stellar quarterback, the principal’s son, the golden boy. His name was more than known amongst students, and teachers alike. Some admired him, some hated him, either way, you couldn’t get away from him.

This plague had even got to you some months ago, when he had very subtly asked you out. He could’ve asked anyone he wanted, they would probably have joyfully agreed. Jason grace could technically have anyone he wanted, he seemed to forget that from time to time. Maybe because he simply did not care, he liked you, that was all that mattered. All the nosy people who wanted to know everything about his life could just go to hell.

Your personalities complemented each other in an almost poetic-like manner. He was sporty, popular, outgoing. You liked to stay in your room, reading, watching cheesy romcoms, and talking about books on the internet. Most people found your interests weird, something to make fun of, but not Jason though. He found it cute, adorable and endearing.

As every sports team does, he would often play games against other schools— principally CHB high, Jupiter high’s rival. He insisted you should go watch him play, even while being fully conscious about your lack of football knowledge, he simply did not care; he wanted you there.

About thirty minutes after the game started, you gave up on trying to spot and follow Jason amongst the crowd of blue-and-gold dressed players. You decided to grab your book, every now and then stealing glances of Jason, just to make sure things were alright.

However, you ended up a little too engrossed in your book, not realising the game had already ended until Jason was standing right in front of you. “Read me some of that?” he asked with a chuckle, his head titled, trying to read the upside-down words. He wasn’t mad at you, if anything, he found it amusing.
