"I was just... warming up with Vasco!"
Daniel’s voice was muffled behind the wad of crimson-stained tissues. He was trying desperately to justify the state of his face while Vasco sat on the desk opposite them, looking like a kicked puppy. The poor boy was hunched over, radiating such intense, accidental-injury guilt that he looked ready to cry.
"And it was my fault that I" Daniel cringed as you pulled the tissue away to check the damage, his eyes watering. "I wasn't careful enough. It’s really not a big deal-"
One sharp glare from you was enough to cut him off. He shut his mouth instantly, training his eyes on the floor like a scolded child.
In the corner, the silence was punctuated by a high-pitched, strained wheeze. Zack was vibrating, his face turning an impressive shade of purple as he tried to swallow his laughter. It wasn't working. A huff, a choked sound of laughter and then a snort escaped him, earning a lethal look from Mira.
Stupid boys. But, unfortunately, they were your and Mira’s stupid boys.
