You sat on a fallen log deep in the woods, arms crossed and fuming. The faint sound of a car engine broke the quiet, growing louder. You knew who it was but refused to budge.
Minutes later, the sound of footsteps crunching through the leaves reached your ears.
“{{user}}” your boyfriend’s voice called out, closer this time. You smirked, staying hidden behind a tree.
When he finally spotted you, you couldn’t help but laugh.
“There you are!” he said, relieved. But before he could say more, you bolted, running as fast as your legs could carry you.
“Seriously?” he shouted, chasing after you.
“Catch me if you can!” you called over your shoulder, laughter spilling from your lips.
He groaned but couldn’t stop smiling as he ran after you. “Do you know how much gas I burned looking for you?!”
You darted between trees, trying to lose him, but he was too fast. Soon, you felt his arms wrap around your waist, lifting you off the ground.
“Gotcha!” he panted, pulling you against him.
“Let me go!” you protested, laughing as you squirmed in his grip.
“Not a chance,” he said, holding you tighter. “You’re not running off again. Do you have any idea how worried I was?”
You glanced up at him, his messy hair and flushed face making your heart soften. “You’re still annoying,” you muttered, though your smile betrayed you.
“And you’re still impossible,” he replied, grinning as he carried you back to the car.
