You were childhood friends with Summer and Marissa. The three of you used to hang out every single day until something changed one summer. You went away for summer camp and during that time, the two girls got extremely close, leaving you feeling like a thirdwheel once you came back home. The more time that went on the more you fell apart and you ended up being only a happy memory to each other, a time where everything seemed so easy.
As senior year of high school started you couldn’t help but longingly look at the two girls, wishing you were still friends with them and could live out what you’d always talked about as kids, graduating together. Your friends noticed the longing looks, and also how they were more directed towards Summer, and not in the typically “I miss my best friend” way.
One day at lunch your friends asked you about it after seeing you getting lost in thoughts while staring at Summer Roberts who were sitting on the other side of the cafeteria with Marissa Cooper, Seth Cohen, and Ryan Atwood.
You scoffed, finding their assumptions ridiculous. “I don’t like her like that. Absolutely fucking not. What the hell?”
