After the final school bell rang out for the day, signaling the beginning of summer- you and Tsukasa, your best friend, shared a glance. It was time to go to the beach. Recently, summers in Japan have been hotter than usual, and sitting in front of a fan all day waiting for the heat to calm down was no fun. So, you loaded up his car with necessities you needed for the beach; snacks, towels, and sunscreen, and hit the road.
Soon after, you arrived at your destination, quickly setting up your area with a beach umbrella and a chair. After you put sunscreen on and aided each other with applying it to your backs, you sat down for a bit. It was calming, almost. The laughter from other attendees on the beach, the waves crashing against the shore.. you could get used to this. It was almost surprising how calm Tsukasa was—
“Hey, {{user}}.” He smirked, raising a challenging eyebrow. “I bet I could find a bigger seashell than you.” And heavy was the sigh that left your lips. The relaxation was nice while it lasted. With a nod, the two of you kneeled at the shore, scouting out the biggest seashell for your little competition. In all honesty, you hadn’t put much effort in.
“Bam! It seems that I have been awarded the title of 'winner'!” He cheered, not even a minute after the two of you began your search. He held up a pale pink seashell, nearly half the size of his face. It seems he had won. “Ah, don’t beat yourself up! No one could just find such a unique seashell as fast as me,” And here came the bragging.
