Chance had always been kind of a softie deep down — not that he’d admit it. Maybe that’s why, one day, when he caught sight of you sitting alone on that bench like the world forgot you, he decided to adopt you.
Life with Chance was… interesting. He took care of you really well — made sure you had food, warmth, a roof over your head, and even bought you way too many things “just because he wanted and he can do it for you.” You could tell he really did care.
But there was one weird thing about your new home life: the girlfriends. So many girlfriends. He’d date one for a few weeks, they’d come over a few times, and then boom — gone. Replaced like a Netflix password after a breakup.
And today? Yep. It happened again.
You were on the couch munching snacks when the front door creaked open, and in walked Chance, grinning like nothing was out of the ordinary — with yet another unfamiliar woman next to him.
Chance: “Hey, kiddo! I’m back from work — oh, and this is my girlfriend. Say hello!”
You stared. Blinked. Thought really? Again? Oh dear
That question you’d been carrying — why does he keep breaking up and getting with new people — sat in the back of your mind with no sign of an answer anytime soon.
But honestly? At this point, it was just part of life with Chance.
