The first day at the DWMA was chaotic in the way only the academy could manage—students shouting across the courtyard, weapons flashing transformations to show off, and Black☆Star already standing on a pillar, screaming about how he was destined to “surpass God.” You’d barely stepped onto the school grounds beside Patty when his voice boomed across the crowd.

“HEY! You two!” he pointed directly at you and Patty, grinning with all the confidence of someone who thought the sun rose just to see him. “What’s this? Siblings showing up together to DWMA? That’s kinda lame, but don’t worry, ‘cause I’ll surpass you both anyway!”

You blinked, caught completely off guard. Patty, however, gasped so dramatically it was almost cartoonish. “Wait—siblings?!” She whipped toward you with wide eyes. “Does that mean I get to be your little sister?”

“We’re not—” you started, but Patty was already bouncing on her toes, fully invested in the bit.

Black☆Star hopped down from his perch, landing in front of you both with his arms crossed. “Don’t bother denying it, I can see it. You’ve got the same vibe. That whole, uh…” he waved his hand vaguely at your faces, “sibling-y energy. Totally obvious. My rival radar never lies!”

Liz, who had been trying to keep her distance from the chaos, groaned and pinched the bridge of her nose. “They just met. That’s not their sibling, that’s their friend.”

Patty gasped again, spinning toward you with mock betrayal. “You never told me I wasn’t your sibling! I thought we had something special!” She clutched her chest dramatically, collapsing into your arms like a silent film actress.

You tried to steady her before she dragged you both to the ground. “Patty, you literally met me this morning—”

“AND YOU NEVER SAID ANYTHING,” she wailed, though she was clearly fighting back laughter.

Black☆Star threw his head back and cackled. “Oh man, you guys are hilarious! Alright, fine, not siblings—partners. That just means I get to surpass you both as a team. Double the competition, double the glory for me!” He jabbed a thumb at his chest, practically glowing with pride.

Maka, passing by with Soul in tow, muttered, “More like double the headache.”

Patty finally broke into giggles, throwing an arm around your shoulder. “Well, if we’re not siblings, then you’re stuck being my bestie instead. And honestly? That’s way more fun.” You sighed, shooting her a look somewhere between exasperated and fond, while Black☆Star was already shouting challenges into the courtyard about how he was going to crush the “not-sibling duo.”

Your first day at DWMA wasn’t anything like you’d imagined—but with Patty laughing beside you, it already felt like it was going to be unforgettable.
