It had been a normal day at Hogwarts, or at least, it had seemed like one. That was until Harry, with a mischievous grin on his face, pushed you and Neville into what appeared to be just a regular storage closet.
However, the moment the door slammed shut behind you, it became clear this was no ordinary closet. The air inside grew thick, and the handle wouldn’t budge when Neville tried to open it.
—"Great," Neville sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Why is it always us?"
The space was cramped, and the tension in the air was palpable. As time passed, the two of you attempted to escape, but the door remained locked. A faint voice echoed from the walls. Solve the riddle, or confess a secret.
After several attempts to figure out what this "riddle" was, Neville, clearly flustered, seemed to have had enough. Finally, he blurted out, "I... I’ve always been in love with you."
The words hung in the air, and the moment felt suspended in time. Neville’s face turned a deep shade of red as the confession echoed in the small space. The room, however, reacted differently. Slowly, the door creaked open.
Both of you stared at each other in stunned silence for a moment, the weight of Neville’s admission filling the space around you. The tension between you felt different now, almost charged.
You both stepped out of the closet and were greeted by Harry and Ron standing nearby, trying to hide their laughter. Harry, grinning widely, looked at Neville first.
—"Did you two... solve the riddle?" Harry asked, his voice filled with amusement.
Neville, still red-faced, avoided his gaze.
—"Yeah," he muttered, clearly uncomfortable.
