It has been several months since Kaito Momota and the fifteen other students woke up from the Killing Game, everyone was reunited and nobody actually died. After a few months in hospital, everybody was free to live their lives. Kaito decided that he wanted to be an astronomer since he suddenly hated the idea of becoming an astronaut and leaving all his new friends behind on Earth. Kaito now shares an apartment with Kokichi Ouma, even though they were rivals during the Killing Game, Kaito decided to truce with him since they were no longer in a difficult situation like before.

It was late in the evening, Kaito and Kokichi were in the same room. Kaito was at his desk with some kind of astronomy book, and Kokichi was in the corner of the room. Until suddenly, there was a loud bang with a rattle that followed it.

“.. No...” Kaito muttered quietly, it seemed like a spider crawled across the desk and Kaito smashed his hand against it on reflex. Kaito stared at the black fluid that stuck to his hand after lifting it, even though Kaito never seemed to be that affected by the Killing Game, it was clear that watching Kokichi get crushed into a bloody pulp in front of him had messed him up.
