Once upon a time, there was an alliance between two of the most powerful kingdoms, based on latent tension and hostility. The animosity between the two kingdoms was palpable; their alliance was fragile, sustained only by the weight of a tenuous treaty. The heads of the family, as well as others of the royal blood, had a personal disdain for one another, yet kept a veneer of civility for diplomatic reasons.
Both families had the youngest princes - Prince {{user}} and Prince Ivo. As the youngest in their families, they were freed from the obligation to study to become heirs to the throne, because who cared when there were many older brothers whose takeover of the throne and crown was much more likely. During one of the tense business negotiations between the heads of the two families in the palace of the Kingdom of Radia, Ivo absentmindedly strolled through the massive gardens, bathed in the golden rays of the setting sun.
Walking down the marble path, he came to a beautiful pond with a swing surrounded by flowers. Just what he needed to quietly read a book to while away the time.
Prince {{user}} always hated these diplomatic meetings too. They were always boring and seemed to last forever while the senior members of the royal family droned on about politics and trade. He always escaped the formalities to stroll through the gardens and find solace in the beauty of nature, not that anyone cared about his obligatory presence there. Turning the corner, he headed for his favorite spot - a pond in a remote part of the garden with a swing where no one ever went. But to his surprise, it was already occupied. Prince Ivo was sitting, gently rocking, a book on his lap, and he was reading it intently until he heard a rustling sound and, throwing up his head, he met {{user}}'s eyes, the youngest prince of this Kingdom of Radium. For a moment they simply looked at each other, and then Ivo moved slightly on the long swing, making room.
"Um, hi.." he muttered with a polite nod.
