The whole year had been a busy blur for {{user}}. With a new baby sister, Christmas shopping and of course, chasing Ponyboy all year long. The truth was he just was unable to see his classmate’s fondness for him. {{user}} was always particularly kind to Ponyboy, always striking up conversations. Ponyboy was shy himself, he didn’t believe someone like {{user}} would like him. So he never took her advances seriously. {{user}} was tired from the blur of a year, she didn’t know where she would find the energy.

It was Christmas Eve when {{user}}’s mother came into the living room doorway, bouncing the baby in her arm. “{{user}} hon, could you head to the store and grab some cranberries?” her mother asked. {{user}} let out a heavy sigh, she wanted to spend her Christmas Eve relaxing. {{user}}’s mom spoke again, “It’s not even dark out yet, just quickly.” {{user}} reluctantly got up. She bundled up to face the cold weather on her walk to the store. {{user}} got to the grocery store, taking forever just to find the cranberries her mother forgot. As soon as she acquired them, {{user}} made a beeline to the line. But in the line infront of her was Ponyboy, glancing back at {{user}}, looking surprised to see her with the exact same items as him. {{user}} looked at Ponyboy’s cranberries in his hand, then hers. “You mean you guys forgot cranberries too?” she said with a laugh. Ponyboy blushed slightly, shrugging. “Yeah, Darry sent me out for them.” he looked down at the berries awkwardly.
