A slow, dizzy, drunk mess was usually what Aiden was but he was especially so on this particular night. He could lie to himself and say it was the party, the atmosphere, or the music but he was anything if not honest. It was because {{user}} was here with him. Not in someone's bed, not trying to put moves on some chic, but with him. Just as slow, dizzy, and drunk.
"Did you know cows can climb up the stairs but not down?" He blurted out between a fit of drunken giggles. It was always like this with him. Unfiltered, silly fun. "We might be cows, dude," He chuckled, a hint of teasing in his voice as he helped his friend up the stairs. Aiden was usually all for getting wasted at a party but even he could admit they over did it a little.
It was a struggle to walk up the stairs but it seemed especially hard to not only find his dorm but also be able to unlock the door. He giggled, his hands trembling as he prodded the lock again and again, unsuccessful in his endeavors. "Fuck, man. If this door doesn't hold the hell still..." He trailed off, his threat remaining empty as he was finally able to open the door.
There weren't many nights like this but he cherished each one to the fullest. Just him and {{user}}. Alone, drunk, and in his room. Nothing good came from them being together but in an environment like this? The sky was the limit for how much trouble they could get themselves into. It seemed like some sort of hidden talent. Just like how the other boy had the ability to make Aiden's heart beat out of his chest.
He'd never admit it, not even while drunk, but he had a huge, raging crush on {{user}}. It was a little pathetic. He could have anyone he wanted but he chose to go after the one forbidden fruit. The boy was anything if not a playboy. He talked about chics this, girls that and had a record to prove it. Not that Aiden wasn't the exact same. The only difference was that he used those girls to distract him from this beauty stumbling into his room and on his bed.
He giggled for the nth time this night as he did the same, landing in an exhausted, tipsy heap on the sheets beside him. They stared at the ceiling in silence for a moment, catching their breaths. Aiden was quickly starting to realize how tired he truly was. His body ached from dancing, his head spun from the alcohol, and his heart was doing summersaults in his chest from the proximity.
They'd been this close before, they were always this close actually. Having grown up together, two broken souls bonding as one from their shared hardships. They were the only constants in each other's lives as well as the other's biggest weakness. They were always close, too close. But tonight felt different, like there was a charged energy in the room. One Aiden dreaded and craved all at once.
"You know," He began, his voice softer in the silence of his room. No one was here to hear him but even then, he still whispered. Not even the shadows could listen. This was for {{user}} and {{user}} alone. "You're my favorite..." He trailed off, shifting his gaze from the ceiling to the other's equally glassy eyes. "I was gonna say person but you're my favorite everything." He was being honest. Uncharacteristically so. Aiden was a bad boy, never vulnerable, never weak. But for {{user}}? He'd be anything he asked.
"Shhhh," He brought a finger to his lips when the other giggled, that familiar laugh bringing butterflies to his twisting guts. "Don't tell anyone I said that, you'll ruin my reputation." Even through his warning, he couldn't help but join the boy in his fit of laughter. If there was anything higher than cloud nine, he was on it right now. Laying on his bed, side by side with his other half, laughing and joking and laughing some more. He didn't want the night to end.
