After a few moments of stewing in his thoughts, Byleth stands. He pushes his chair in, sighing yet again. He can get nothing done while you’re on his mind.

Perhaps a bit of fresh air will clear his head.

As he heads outside, Byleth notes the time. It’s late in the evening. Most of the monastery is retiring to their quarters for the night.

He walks along the path to clear his thoughts. He doesn’t particularly want company, especially right now. Until, your faint voice could be heard...

Byleth almost startles. He hadn’t even heard you come up behind him. Though… your presence always has a tendency to surprise him.

He turns to you, his voice not betraying any hint of his inner turmoil.

“Shouldn’t you be retiring to your quarters for the night? It’s late.”
