“{{user}}.” Ace whispered your name and nudged you to look into what should have been a child’s bedroom—at least, what was left of it after marines came and slaughtered and destroyed the town.

It was an attempt to smoke you and Ace out of hiding and turn yourselves in during your quest to find Blackbeard, but it clearly failed. Now all that was left was decimated town that was once peaceful just a few days ago, when you and Ace first arrived.

Now, the town was barren. Everyone had either left without a trace or died without reason. Your eyes scanned the room, searching for a sign that anyone was still alive.

And then you heard a sniff, a shaky breath. From the corner of the room, hidden under a pile of blankets, you can see something moving just slightly.

A child.

“…Fuck do we do?” Ace asked you, uncertainty laced in his voice as he took a step back and looked to you for some kind of guidance.
