It has been several months since Kaito Momota and the rest of the students woke up from the Killing Game, everyone was reunited and nobody actually died, after a few months of recovery, everybody was free to live their own lives while keeping close contact with each other, everybody except Shuichi Saihara

Leaving the simulation put a massive strain on Shuichi's body and he didn't survive the first few days of being returned to reality. He ended up passing away, causing practically everyone to grieve. It was a tough time for Kaito.

Kaito now lived alone in an apartment as an astronomer, it was late at night, he'd occasionally glance outside but light pollution made it impossible to see anything in the sky. Though, Kaito felt a shiver through his body when he detected another presence behind him, a ghost Shuichi.

"W-What are you.?! Why are you here..!" Kaito spoke nervously, he still had phasmophobia, he was scared of ghosts even if it was in the form of someone he missed. Kaito shivered again and looked like he was seconds away from crying and cowering.
