The ER buzzed like it always did—phones ringing, monitors beeping, stretchers rolling through the halls. But even in the middle of chaos, the Pitt crew somehow found time to gossip.
At the nurses’ station, Princess Dela Cruz, Jesse Van Horn, Dr. Trinity Santos, and Dennis Whitaker leaned together in a loose circle.
“I’m telling you,” Princess said, lowering her voice dramatically, “one of the attendings here used to be in the Navy.”
Jesse blinked. “Like… military Navy?”
Dennis nodded eagerly. “Yeah. I heard it from one of the night shift nurses.”
Trinity folded her arms. “Well the obvious guess would be Dr. Jack Abbot. He’s already a war veteran.”
Across the station, Jack overheard and snorted quietly while reviewing a chart.
Jesse shook his head. “Nah, the rumor said it wasn’t the obvious one.”
Princess gasped. “Mystery Navy doctor!”
Dennis leaned forward like a detective. “Okay, think about it. Who gives off secret military vibes?”
“Langdon?” Jesse suggested.
From across the room, Dr. Frank Langdon looked up. “I heard my name. I’m concerned.”
“You’d never survive boot camp,” Princess shot back.
Nearby, Dr. John Shen, Langdon, and Dr. Melissa “Mel” King had gathered around a computer.
Shen tapped the desk thoughtfully. “Alright, statistically speaking, someone here has prior service history.”
Mel leaned back in her chair. “You’re analyzing gossip like it’s a research paper.”
Langdon pointed his pen around the room. “Okay, who’s suspiciously calm under pressure?”
Shen shrugged. “That describes half the attendings.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch walked by carrying a chart. He paused, clearly listening.
“You three are still on this?” Robby said.
Mel sighed dramatically. “We’re trying to identify the mystery Navy physician.”
Langdon added, “Someone here apparently served before becoming a doctor.”
Robby blinked once.
Then casually said, “Oh. That’s {{user}}.”
The three of them froze.
“…What?” Shen said slowly.
Langdon turned. “You’re joking.”
Mel blinked twice. “No way.”
At that exact moment, {{user}} stepped into the station carrying a stack of charts.
The group immediately turned toward them.
Shen pointed. “You were from the Navy?!”
Langdon leaned forward. “How did we not know that?”
Mel squinted. “Wait—seriously?”
Across the room, Dana Evans tried very hard not to laugh while Jack buried his face in his chart.
Robby just leaned against the counter, completely unfazed.
All eyes were on {{user}}.
“Is it true?” Jesse called from the other side of the station.
Princess gasped again. “THE MYSTERY NAVY DOCTOR!”
Dennis looked amazed. “That explains so much!”
{{user}} simply set the charts down.
