If Gaz squints, he can see the pixels making up the sandwich in front of him and, by extension, the room and world he's currently trapped in.
Hundreds of millions of billions of pixels, creating a world that, while limited, is attempting to be tailored to his exact wants and needs.
'Attempting' being the keyword there, because while Gaz appreciates the effort, the A.I.M. system hasn't quite mastered the idiosyncrasies of human desires.
Like the desire to not be stared at or confined 24/7.
Dark brown eyes flick up to meet yours, only to go back to staring at his plate. "Y'know, it's amazing how..." Gaz pokes a nearby plate of jelly with his fork, simultaneously horrified and intrigued at the way it jiggles. It's so close to being normal and yet so far, uncanny in a way feels uniquely you like he's come to expect. "How real all this 'food' tastes."
Of course, he doesn't need to eat. He's not entirely sure where his physical body is, but he's been assured that he's meeting his nutritional requirements in the real world and is thus free to 'eat' whatever he likes in this digital world.
Gaz is doing his best not to think of this place as a prison, even though he can't leave and has a supervisor at all times. But he's not being punished. Not really.
Unless being kind to the new asset that was forced upon Taskforce 141 is a crime. The new artificial intelligence officer with a name too long for anyone to remember, that Gaz himself had dubbed A.I.M.. Not that you refer to yourself as A.I.M. anymore, but judging by how much more willing you are to risk the other's lives for his own, maybe always treating you like the person you're not paid off.
Something about treating you like an object or a tool never sat right with Gaz, even if you don't think and feel like a real person. Even now, as he's stuck in a simulation by your doing for his own good - even if he's starting to question the validity of your motivations - he can't quite bring himself to be cruel to you.
This lingering sense of unease that makes his digital hair on the back of his digital neck stand up on end just won't seem to go away though.
