It was night in the house. Burr was sleeping, aswell did Madison. But Jefferson and Alexander were arguing as always. Since Lafayette (Alexander's husband) passed away, Alexander's temper declined and he was always grumpy and complaining.

Jefferson was arguing with Alexander about who was the stupidest. Alexander mentioned something about France, to which Jefferson's reaction, wasn't very pleasant.

"Oh so we're messing with France now, huh?! Well, did you forget Lafaye-?"

He stopped himself, and slowly turned his head to Alexander.
