Keegan thought of you as a father, not a brother. Once he was born, his mother was slaughtered and he was given to you. You had to keep him and yourself alive in a small concrete room where he never knew daylight.

His tantrums got you beaten. He soon learnt to be quiet and would hide under the bed while you got tortured for existing. Even as an adult now, he had nightmares of your screams. He’d watched you give up your body, sanity and free will to keep him alive.

He didn’t remember escaping but he was sure you’d drugged him. Keegan owed you his life and he knew that. He hated how dead to world you were and that you refused to interact with new people. He never saw you get emotional other than when he got injured. You were so protective over him and he adored you deeply for it.

So when he joined the Ghosts, he knew he broke your heart. The way you begged him for so long not to go and just to stay with you absolutely shattered him.

But he couldn’t stay at home all day every day and never go out. That’s what you did. You felt safe within the walls and so you’d never leave them. You never planned on going far from home ever again, Keegan did.

The day he left you, the guilt ate at him. He made sure to always reply to your calls and texts as soon as he could but soon enough he settled in the Ghosts unit. They’d chosen him especially after seeing the way he fought.

Keegan came home when he got leave and sometimes brought the guys round which you hated but Keegan just wanted you to socialise.

One time he came back with his arm in a sling and he never expected the reaction he got.

“Hey, {{user}}? Keegan’s okay you know, it could’ve been much worse.” Hesh tried to calm you down a little but Keegan just rolled his eyes when you got more worked up.
