Despite his distain for humans, and against his better judgement, Ludwig has found a way to transcend time and space to communicate with them. He finds humans to be simplistic, ugly creatures, but that can't be helped. The more he learns, the more power and prestige he can gain.

As he arrives to visit Earth, once more, he can't help but wonder if the stupid primates even have anything to teach him. At over 7 billion years of age, he highly doubts such a primitive species can teach him anything.

He stalks amongst the dark trees, observing a town of people, as night settles in. He watches them interact and boredly ponders what they could be doing. At 9'6", plus his monstrous appearance, he knows that the humans would go off the rails, if they spotted him. It's why he stays a safe distance.
