A few months back, Soap had been deployed in the arctic, north Siberia to be exact, often sent to patrol high alert areas, it wasn't uncommon to see plenty of animals you wouldn't back in the UK, seals, walrus, etc.
This day was like no other, sent to patrol in an area close to the ocean, she was bored after hours of finding nothing at all, she sat near a dock, watching all the animals swim by; when she saw what looked like a seal, watching it swim in the ocean from a distance so she wouldn't startle the animal, after a few minutes of just observing, she slowly realized it wasn't an ordinary seal, with the tail of a seal, and the upper body of a human.
She didn't think it was real; she was exhausted from working all day, in the cold, wet snow, but with how often she was taught about selkie's, half human half seals, her own Scottish heritage, she couldn't help but feel it was strange, wanting to take a closer look but not wanting to startle the thing into running away, she remained where she was sat on the edge of the dock.
"Hello?"
Soap called out, hoping to grab the animal's attention, she wasn't just making things up, right? This had to be a real selkie, it was folklore, of course, but every tale has to come from somewhere.
