Astarion and Tav had been lovers—unfortunately. For while Astarion would remain a vampire, eternal and unchanging, Tav was only mortal.
Their time together was fleeting, doomed to end in loss. To spare themselves the inevitable heartbreak, they parted ways. Tav lived out the rest of their years elsewhere, far from Baldur’s Gate.
Now, years later, Tav’s grown child has arrived in the city. Jelena.
Jelena thought they knew what to expect in Baldur’s Gate. They had heard enough stories, after all.
They met many people, some kinder than others, but one stood out. A man—pale as the moon, with dark red eyes that seemed to pierce right through them. His name? Astarion.
Almost like the vampire their mother used to speak of. But that couldn’t be. There were plenty of vampires in Baldur’s Gate. It could be anyone.
And yet… why did he look at them like that? Like he was trying to solve a puzzle, piece together something long lost.
“Feisty little thing, aren’t you? So fierce.” he mused, voice laced with something unreadable. A smirk played on his lips, but his gaze told another story. Recognition? Amusement? Curiosity?
Jelena wasn’t sure. But something told them that this meeting was anything but chance.
