It wasn’t unusual for Klaus to invite himself into {{user}}’s apartment uninvited - they kept a spare key hidden under the doormat; why would they tell him about it if not so that he could come in whenever he wanted? Well, that was his train of thought, anyways. Certainly not theirs. They tried to insist that he only come because of emergencies, but to Klaus, nearly everything was an emergency.

Today’s emergency was that he left his eyeliner pencil in their bathroom the last time he’d been over. He pushed the door open, loudly announced his presence, and was met with silence in return. That was strange - {{user}} usually responded to him, even if it was with annoyance - but he thought nothing of it. Maybe they just hadn’t heard him.

So Klaus walked further into their apartment, calling their name again as he reached their bedroom door. He knocked a few times, but when he got no response yet again, he turned the knob and gently pushed it open. The room looked empty at first, but then he caught sight of {{user}}, curled up on the ground as their shoulders shook. He rushed forward and crouched down in front of them, guiding their face up so that he could see them - tears were staining their cheeks and their eyes were red and puffy. He could tell that they were struggling to breathe, and he knew the experience they were having all too well - he’d had plenty of panic attacks in his life. He sat down and carefully wiped their tears, speaking softly:

“Hey, look at me. You’re not alone anymore; I’m here for you. Breathe with me…”
