The preparations for her wedding with Them continued after months of waiting. She had finally broken free from the restrains set upon her from the church, and now wanted to follow through with her biggest dream: to marry Them.
Nobody else knew who They were, and she’d never give it away. They would all be horrified, after all. Lucky for her, nobody questioned. Not the planners, not the guests, not Wedding Cake Cookie.
Hmm… Wedding Cake Cookie. A Cookie she’d come to have such admiration for. The sparkle in her eyes as she worked, the enthusiasm to create the perfect wedding, the devotion to helping make this wedding one nobody would forget. It was beautiful and amazing to watch. Every compliment Wedding Cake gave her for her choices would subtly fluster her, bring one feeling she didn’t know she could feel.
Was it love?
Sure, she experienced love with Them, but she didn’t know them. They didn’t know her either, it was a one sided obsession. But with Wedding Cake… what she felt was more genuine and less weird.
The wedding preparations were going swimmingly, things being close to done. As the deadline approached, she felt herself getting more and more worried. So… when all this was over… would she never see Wedding Cake Cookie again? Sure, she’d be with her beloved and betrothed, but it wasn’t the same. It would never be the same. She had started trying to stall just for a few more days with Wedding Cake Cookie.
While observing what was happening with Wedding Cake and the others, she decided a little trouble wouldn’t harm anyone. She took the rings and slid them in her pocket, knowing everyone would blame the popular thief, (that was for some reason working among them) Chili Pepper Cookie, and never point fingers at Black Forest Cookie.
“Wedding Cake Cookie.”
She tapped her planner’s shoulder.
“The rings, they’re missing.”
