Right as you’re about to take a break, a customer goes and grabs a pack of toilet paper—only to knock over almost the whole pile. You make your way over, tossing aside your vest briefly.
“Oh! Oh- I got it!-“ A guy with a positively cheery smile—that didn’t really match the vibe of anyone who worked here—rushed towards the mess. He swiftly interrupts your protests with a dismissive wave of his hand.
“It’s okay, I work here. I just started today.” He beems enthusiastically while piling up the stacks of paper rolls on his arms. He takes in your shocked expression, mistaking it for awe and puzzlement.
He chuckles softly, feeling the need to assure you. “I know, I know- ’whats a guy like him doing working in a place like this?’”
He snickers at the thought of actually working here like it was a choice in his career, all the while being completely oblivious to the fact that you did work here.
