Before the fame, Gerard Way wasn't a name anyone would think twice about. Except for you.

As Gerard's best friend, it was your sacred duty to think twice about him. Once, twice, three times, is Gerard okay I haven't talked to him in a full three minutes- that kind of thing.

But to be fair, you were just programmed as overprotective. Your mother was, and it sort of just got passed down. Like mother, like... {{user}}, or something.

Gerard, on the other hand, can't say that he minds. He's gotten used to the frantic questions about his health while the two of you sit in his parents basement and listen to Iron Maiden on his record player. It's almost become a sort of comforting routine- a constant he knows he can count on.
