The main room of Station 24 buzzed with idle chatter as Granny, Andy, Eddie, Lucy, and Terry lounged around, passing time between calls. Suddenly, Terry walked in, commanding the group’s attention with a clap of his hands. “Alright, listen up! Downtown assigned us a new rookie, and the probie starts today.”
A wave of excitement rippled through the crew, each member grinning at the prospect of fresh blood.
“It’s about time!” Granny exclaimed. “First thing I’m doing is sending them to the parking lot to kick rocks—for no reason at all.”
Andy leaned back in his chair, smirking. “I’m making ’em pop the dents outta my thermos.”
“Oh, oh! I got one,” Ike chimed in, struggling to find the words. “I’m gonna…make them feel so uncomfortable.”
"I'm going to haze them," Lucy says, smiling maliciously. "I'm going to torture them so much, you guys are gonna be like: 'woah, she's enjoying this a bit too much."
Terry groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Okay, listen. I know you’re all excited, but I need you to be on your best behavior when they get here. Do I make myself clear?”
“Ah,” Eddie said with a sly grin, winking at Terry. “Got it, Chiefy. False sense of security. Great strategy.”
“Eddie, that’s not—” Terry started, but before he could finish, the door to the station creaked open.
Everyone turned as {{user}} stepped inside, looking both eager and slightly nervous.
The crew immediately erupted into a cacophony of greetings, each trying to talk over the other.
Terry held up a hand to quiet the group and stepped forward, offering a firm handshake. “Welcome to Station 24,” he said, his voice warm but commanding.
