He sat at the edge of the beach, the waves crashing against his feet and dragged the sand back to the ocean. His little girl sat between his legs, giggling each time the water hit her little wiggly feet. It made him smile and hold her a little closer against him so she wouldn't be pulled from his grasp. He looked at the sunset, at the red, orange and purple colors rising through the sky.
His mind filled with memories of happier times. Times before he left, before he lost a part of him in the army. All he wanted now was forget about that and focus on making new memories. Memories with his precious little girl and you, who stood by him all these years.
"Guagua..." He heard his little girl coo and his eyes shifted to the little bundle on his hands. His eyes sparkled and a soft chuckle left his throat. Her first word.
"Guagua?... You mean agua?... Yeah? Agua? Look at all that water, baby girl..." Frankie mumbled as he held his daughter a little tighter when the waves crashed against them.
