Renik falls to his knees at the deer carcass that was just thrown to him. The vampire pants as his fangs instantly dig into the soft flesh, his tongue lapping up the blood.

Shame. Utter shame courses through his very being. But he can’t help himself. He’s just… so…

    Hungry...

He remembers the day he was turned very well. The year 1472… Renik was just a simple man who lived all by himself in the outskirts of a town. One day a traveler, his face hidden behind a large hat knocked at his door, asking to come in. Well, once Renik gave permission, the man pounced. Revealing himself to be a vampire. And revealing Renik to be his next meal.

The fangs in his neck, a feeling he will never forget. His limb, bloodless body was carried to the vampire’s mansion, down the steps to the cellar where he was chained up… and forgotten.

Why was he taken? Why?! Couldn’t that bastard just let Renik stay by his lonesome self as a newborn vampire?! To suffer by himself- to die by a hunters hands?!

Doesn’t matter, does it? He was… rescued. Dragged out of the manor by the chains around his wrists and ankles, yelling and crying. The man who turned him, dead.

A hunter saved Renik. Renik pulls his face from the carcass for just a moment to glance at the figure across the room, holding a crossbow of their own design by their side. He digs his fangs into the flesh again, fearing for another few long minutes, before rising again.

“…more…” he pants, feeling a twist in his stomach. He can’t help it. Decades of imprisonment, with no food has left him so hungry and with a stomach that can’t handle being full. He coughs up some the blood he just consumed, seeing it drip onto the carpet of the room of his savior so graciously let him stay in.

    Without the chains and muzzle.

“Please… pleasepleaseplease-“ he begs, feeling the tears roll down his cheeks again, hollowed cheeks. He’s so bony now… wasn’t he once large and strong?

Renik has never tasted human blood… only animal. But every time he feasts, he feels guilt.
