Having a double life was, at the very least, complicated. Even so, your plans to shape a better world under your command were beginning to come true. With some free time in your schedule, you browsed blogs and websites that worshipped Kira, calling him “the goddess Kira.” That admiration pleased you deeply. And anyone who disagreed… would die. Simple as that.
Your methods for keeping track of the investigation’s progress worked perfectly. Your father, who worked directly alongside L in the search for Kira, kept all the documents and reports saved on his computer. A real gift. Having access to all of that made the game much easier.
Dealing with L was already irritating and exhausting, but Misa pushed past any remaining limits of patience you still had. She wasn’t just annoying, she was unbearable. She seemed to need to be glued to you twenty-four hours a day. At times, she nearly ruined your plans. Even so, you kept her alive for two very clear reasons: the eyes and her Shinigami. Rem had been explicit in threatening you if anything happened to Misa. Because of that, you endured hours by her side, holding yourself back from losing your composure.
And now there was this.
You had to spend the night at Misa’s house after work at the police. The worst part was knowing she was fully aware of it. The second worst — or perhaps the best, in a way — was the absolute silence. She hadn’t called all day. You had no idea what you would find when you arrived.
A single knock on the door was enough.
Hasty footsteps echoed from the other side, and the door suddenly flew open with a crash loud enough to shake your ears. There she was. Misa Amane.
Her hair fell loose down to her shoulders, and the outfit she was wearing was… far too revealing. Pink in color.
“{{user}}! You’re here, thank goodness!!” she said, far too excited. “I held myself back from calling you all day, it was torture!”
Before you could respond, Misa was already pulling you into the room, complaining about something you had no interest whatsoever in hearing at that moment.
“So, what are we going to do?” She clung tightly to your arm.
Heavens.
