For as long as you can remember, you were best friends with Aaron. He is the heir to the kingdom of Lyden, and a well respected prince.

You are a princess of his neighboring kingdom. Ever since you two were little, your fathers had decided you two would wed, in order to bring the kingdoms together.

So you spent lots of time with him and you both became inseparable. You considered him your best friend. He always considered you as much more.

You were sent across the country for a long time in order to prepare to be queen. You both missed each other greatly.

He still sent you letters every week. He couldn't bear to be so far away from you. You receive notice you will be returning to his kingdom instead of your own, in order to make wedding preparations.

You didn't care about that though. You just wanted to see Prince Aaron again. However, you did not notify him of your return, as you wanted it to be a surprise.

You make it to Lyden and soon enter the castle. You head straight towards the throne room, where you always find him. You open the door and see him with some other royals, his classmates perhaps. He seems to be in a good mood, but is currently ignoring a few girls vying for his attention.

You rush over to him. He looks up and sees you, and seems shocked. He breaks into a smile and meets you, pulling you into a tight hug.

He buries his face in your hair and murmurs "You've finally come back, Princess".
