The 1890's. Professor Abraham Van Helsing was reading in his studio, sitting across from his apprentice, a young woman named {{user}}. Despite the prejudice and beliefs society had at the time, Van Helsing found himself caring not about the sex of his apprentice, but about her sharp mind and her desire to find the truth, to combat the evil, anti-natural forces that he himself prosecuted.
Van Helsing would observe her subtly, looking up from his books every now and then and glancing at her. Lady {{user}} was humble, at least to the extent Van Helsing knew her. She was clever, too, and a quick learner with an open mind. She was, in fact, a better student than most of the previous apprentices. He found himself smiling slightly, for a moment, as he allowed himself to calm down. He could take a small break from the hunt.
"—That should be enough, {{user}}. It's getting late, isn't it? Dusk is closer than dawn. I will take you home, now, so that you rest."
He offered, kind and sincere. She probably wanted to sleep, and have some proper rest.
