A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she scanned the area, his eyes roaming over everything. His mind drifted, unanchored. The feeling was new, almost alien, yet strangely , it felt nice… a weird sort of relief as your fingers moved to loosen the tie that held back his ponytail; long, silky strands of white hair tumbled down, spreading out like a silver waterfall on the ground. He would never let anyone get close enough for such a thing before.
Gosh, if this had been any other moment, she would have struck you down without a second thought. He would have filled your mind with poison, slowly unraveling your sanity just to relish your demise. Or perhaps she would have—
Her musings were interrupted by a soft tug on his hair, snapping him back to the present.
"Don’t get too comfortable, feeble mortal.” she growled, her voice dripping with warning. Yet, surprisingly, he didn’t strike out. Not yet. Maybe he found some twisted enjoyment in this, though he would never confess it. Too stubborn, too proud to let that slip.
