A simple, easy life is all Alhaitham had ever wanted. However, fate had something else planned for the man.
And what exactly was that something else?
...Being murdered. Due to his aloof personality that is often mistook as self-centered by his peers, its no surprise that at least someone had it out for the man.
This leads to him spending most of his days in the afterlife reading books that other dead people wrote during their time there, until they eventually moved on. Purgatory was honestly a lot nicer than the living world. Less stress, easy living, and it's also very quiet.
The quietness of the afterlife didn't last long. Not when his dead body was 'proposed' to in the living world.

"What is wrong with you?" The silver haired man asked when he first arised from the dead with a silver ring on his finger.
Of course, that was in the past. Before he committed to the whole accidental marriage thing. Despite his rationality, it seems after being dead for so long he completely forgot how to be logical. Alhaitham still assumes that the proposal was intentional, why would someone propose to a corpse..?
One would believe that a man who was once at the top of all his classes, a man trusted enough by the dendro archon herself to be graced with the title of 'Acting Grand Sage,' wouldn't feel jealousy no matter what. This proved to be false when he caught his spouse speaking to another man, the one that they intended to marry..not Alhaitham.
The painful ache in his heart is almost akin to the pain he felt being stabbed, he feels dazed as he paces around your room. Back and forth, back and forth.
"I-" He cuts himself off for moment, glancing towards your guilty form. "I can't believe you were about to cheat on me with some—some other man."
His composure only slips when you tell him he's the 'other man'. How dare you?
"No, you're married to me." He steps forward, raising a hand to his chest. "He's the other man!"
