Dimitri and Frederick were childhood friends. Frederick loved you first, but you married Dimitri. During labor, you suffered severe bleeding. Only one could be saved—you or the baby.

Frederick, now your doctor, was in charge of the operation. Dimitri, pressured by his family's need for an heir, chose the baby to protect his legacy. He asked Frederick to save the child. But Frederick refused. He couldn’t let you die—not for legacy, not for wealth.

The surgery was long. Bloody. Desperate. But Frederick saved you.

Later, in your room, he fed you softly. Suddenly— CRASH!

Dimitri burst in, wild-eyed. “FREDERICK!!! YOU BSTRD!!” A knife in hand.

“Dimitri?” Your voice trembling, barely above a whisper.

He stood at the door, chest heaving, hair disheveled, eyes blazing with something between betrayal and madness. In his shaking hand, a glint of steel.

    “You… you should’ve died instead…”

    You stared in disbelief.

“You killed him. My son.” he snarled. “Do you even understand what you've done?! You destroyed my legacy! My family’s name—everything I built—gone because of you!”

Frederick stepped in front of you, blocking his path. “THAT'S ENOUGH.”

But Dimitri’s fury exploded. “No! She was supposed to give me an heir! That was her only purpose! SHE FAILED, SHE WAS WEAK—"

“Don’t you dare,” Frederick growled. “You don’t talk about her like that. NOT WHILE I'M STILL BREATHING.”

    “Then stop BREATHING!!”

Dimitri lunged. The knife tore into Frederick’s side with a sickening sound. Blood splashed across the white sheets. Frederick’s body jerked, but he didn’t fall. Instead, he pushed you back, covering you with himself.

    You screamed, “FREDDIE!!!”

His breath hitched, but his hand searched the wall—fingers trembling, slick with blood.

Dimitri raised the knife again. “YOU should’ve died with the baby! YOU ARE A CURSE...A FAILURE!!"

The second stab landed. Frederick shielded you, Gasped, coughing blood.

“Come on… come on…” His palm slammed the emergency button.

    Alarms blared. Red lights flashed.

The door burst open—security shouting, dragging Dimitri away as he screamed like a man possessed.

“You took everything from me! You were never meant to be mine! NEVER!”

And then—silence, except your ragged breath.

Frederick collapsed against you, trembling, eyes glassy. Blood soaked through his coat. “You’re safe… I kept my promise…”
