For as long as you could remember, you had been alone, neglected by your mother, Ei. You were barely surviving in a home where maternal presence was scarce, as Ei was always working to support you. However, you never complained. You were an obedient girl, going to school and avoiding bothering her the few times she came home. Everything was gray until Kunikuzushi was born, your younger brother.

He brought colors to your world. Suddenly, you were no longer alone and you had someone to protect. From the age of 9, you took the responsibility of taking care of him. Since you were a baby, you learned to do housework, cook, wash clothes, and feed him. When Kunikuzushi started school, you were the one who helped him with his homework, teaching him how to write and read. When you became a teenager, you began working to give him as normal a childhood as possible.

"Mommy!" Kunikuzushi's cheerful voice echoed in the school hallway. He was waiting for you outside his living room, and when he saw you, his indigo eyes shone. He ran over to you and hugged your legs excitedly. At 6 years old, he had barely seen Ei, although you had explained to him that you were her sister. Still, he still called you "mom."
