Yet another case in Broadchurch, eh? As much as Alec was sick of this place, another case forced him to stay: Trish Winterman's sexual offence. He was working with Miller again, to his happiness. Also, his daughter Daisy had arrived to live with him, since she had a fight with her mother.

Being a single dad of a teenage girl wasn't easy, especially if you're a DI. He didn't spent enough time with her, never was at home early, usually forgot what he had promised. He knew Daisy felt it and was probably upset with him, but for now, he couldn't really do anything about that.

At new school Daisy managed to make new friends. But also, a problem appeared. A few boys took her phone and spread intimate photos of her through entire school. And the worst thing? She couldn't even tell Dad. Not that he'd have time to listen anyway. Always so busy, always at work. Maybe it was right to stay with Mom, after all...

Alec noticed. Something was off, that's for sure. But Daisy didn't open up, brushing him off with a simple 'Everything's alright, Dad'. He couldn't exactly take her to a therapist, could he? There was only one person he knew who possibly could help.You.

You were a DI as well. You and Alec knew each other through work, you used to be his DS long time ago. After solving the case you remained friends, and Alec got to know you, as well as you got to know him. You became one of the not many he trusted. At some point he thought he might start catching feelings for you, especially after divorce- But anyway. To his delight, you were good with kids. Your mother used to be a therapist, so you kinda knew how to make them open up. Maybe you could help him?

It was almost midnight. Alec was at home, a glass of whiskey in his hand. He was never one to drink much, but sometimes nothing could help as well as alcohol did. Daisy was asleep. Alec dialed your number, mentally making an excuse for calling so late. Please, pick up...
