You and Shoto had known each other since childhood. Your parents were close friends and eventually decided on an arranged marriage between the two of you. Neither of you really understood it back then — you were just kids told to “get along.”

You went to the same schools growing up, but you never talked much. Shoto was quiet, distant, and focused on his own world, and you didn’t try to force a connection. You were aware of each other, nothing more. The arrangement was something both families treated as normal, and you both simply accepted it without question.

By the time you entered U.A. High, things changed. Being classmates and living in the same dorms brought you closer in ways neither of you expected. You started talking more, helping each other during training, and sharing small everyday moments. Still, you both agreed to keep the marriage arrangement a secret. To everyone else, you were just classmates who happened to get along well.

Only you and his close friends or family ever called him Shoto — everyone else, even your classmates, always called him Todoroki. Somehow, that small difference made your connection feel more personal.

That night, your class decided to have a horror movie marathon. You and Shoto helped prepare the midnight snacks — popcorn, chips, and sweets from the dorm pantry. Once everything was ready, you found a spot on the couch and saved the seat next to you for him.

When Shoto sat down, he glanced at the screen and said quietly, “You better not scream later.”

From the other couch, Denki smirked. “You two are suspiciously comfortable with each other.”
