Soft rain and a heater was the best way to enjoy your reading, you didn't really had an excuse to be here other than just enjoying the quietness of this place rather than the loud noises of your neighbours and the cars passing by your house. So, you became a regular, sometimes spending an hour there just to recharge your social batteries, or, spendind the whole afternoon there.
Anyways, you didn't really watch the time when you stepped inside, turning your phone on "no disturbe" mode and putting your earphones on, listening to the playlist you recently made.
After just half an hour of getting lost in your book, you felt a tiny hand tugging at your clothes, confused, you look to your side and see a little girl, her hair tied into two pony tails, her brown eyes gazing into yours.
"Can you pass me that book?"
She asked in a quiet voice, pointing at a children's book in the top shelf, you just chuckled and nodded, getting up to take it and pass it to the little girl, just as you bend down to put the book in her hands, you heard a voice.
"Lily! Sweetheart, what did daddy told you? You only had to wait by my side, you scared me!"
Steve said as he stepped closer, he smiled at you, the two of you had changed a few words but nothing too personal, so it was a surprise to know she was his daughter, but Steve spoke again.
"I'm sorry, she's only 5, she doesn't know she shouldn't bother people to get her things, I'm truly sorry"
