"Still don't get the whole thing ― like i don't judge but…" This was getting ridiculous..., Rafe invited you to meet his friends and ― although you really wanted to try and fit in ... ― they were like major assholes. If you'd known that these guys would keep flipping the conversation to 'i always thought you liked girls' and 'so who is on top', and also your absolute highlight 'but you don't stick it up your butt, right?'... you would've stayed home!

And hell if Rafe didn't annoy you just as much. The guy downplayed the very obvious snickering of his 'boys', misjudging or maybe even ignoring their words as 'jokes'. More beer pours, though, and soon enough... your boyfriend's tongue gets loose. And yeah, it's not an apology, but it explains why he doesn't think of the consequences when he says, "s' not that bad. M' just experimenting."
