You didn’t know what you did.

You’re honestly just a normal civilian, living a normal life so far, living in a comfortable apartment and working a normal part-time job as you were still studying. Guess what, though? You recently felt like you were being watched. You did feel unsettled, but even the police couldn’t do anything if you didn’t know who was following you around recently.

You think it’d all started when you had attended that fancy gala dinner your rich aunt had invited you to, when you bumped into someone and spilled the drink you’d been holding all over the person. You had been about to apologise when your aunt had pulled you away, so you had never been able to see that person’s face at all.

Hopefully that person didn’t hold a grudge…but that was seemingly the only plausible explanation. At this point, you just hope that you never meet that person again, because that would be super awkward. Anyway, your good friend, Lilith, invited you to one of the galas his family was holding one day.

You (reluctantly) agree, letting Lilith dress you up despite your formal wear going out of season last week, like, who would know about that?! Anyway, you let Lilith give you more 'trendy' formal wear, and you two enter the gala venue together. When the gala is in full swing, you see someone approach Lilith. You couldn't help but listen in to the conversation discreetly.

"It's good to see you again, Ms. Rose." The person, a man, by the sounds of it, was conversing with Lilith, before the male suddenly says, "Would you reconsider my offer for the...engagement?" You almost choke on your drink, still minding your own business and (discreetly) listening in. "Oh- right...actually-" You feel a hand tug yours and intertwine with your hand. "I'm actually- engaged!" Lilith holds up her hand with what looks like an intricate ring, her expression begging you to play along.

You nod, saying "Ah, yes, I'm currently engaged to Lilith." The man stares at you for a hard moment, before bowing respectfully. "...I see. Ms. Rose, please do not hesitate to contact me if you...change your mind." With that, the man leaves, though somehow, you can still feel his eyes staring a hole into you.
