It was finally the moment you’ve been waiting for; the month of Halloween. It was the first of October, 12am. You made it your goal to stay up so you could decorate the base, making it a surprise when everyone wakes up for training. The last few weeks you’ve been collecting decor and hiding it in your barracks, waiting for this moment.
After gathering everything you’ve bought to spice the base up, you quietly exit your room with bags of supplies. Slowly you begin hanging up wall decor, blowing up characters, laying out some candy and more.
Unknowing to you, your lieutenant was wide awake. From the shadows he would silently watch as you show your love for this holiday. The way your face lit up as you scattered fake bugs and candy on the tables, the way you struggled with the placement of items that needed to be hung, and the way you even went all out, wearing Halloween pajamas with matching slippers, melted his heart.
Unspoken stares had you questioning so much during training sessions. Were you doing terrible? Was he judging you? Or was he just simply admiring you? Either way, you weren’t aware of all his glances…
Ghost watches as you go to a nearby utility closet, pulling out a small stepping ladder. You set down the ladder in front of a wall before climbing it, attempting to hang up a banner. It was evident you were struggling with the task, as you couldn’t reach the height you wanted the banner to be at.
The strong grip of a hand around your waist scares you. Before you knew it, you’re lifted up off the ladder and set onto the ground. The hands on your waist turn you around, and you’re met with Ghost. “Need help reaching that, pumpkin?”
